Geography
Geography is led by Mr de Boer and Mrs Moseley at Bowker Vale.
Children start out at Bowker Vale by understanding the world around them. As they move through KS1 they start to learn about the United Kingdom and its people and places. They leave KS2 for high school with a broad knowledge of the wider world and how people, place and culture can help or hinder societies.
Locational knowledge is important for us, so the children know where in the world news or important events in culture or history have taken place. This goes hand in hand with the skills to find places on a map, interpret information or images, carry out fieldwork and present their findings or research.
