2016 Remembrance Service
Year 6 and School Council walked up to Blackley Forest this morning and met with Dot and some other members of our local community to mark the 2 minutes silence at 11am.
Some children read poems that they had written themselves – the visitors were amazed at the talented poets we have at Bowker Vale!
We sang our song of remembrance and it sounded beautiful – even without a backing track!
At 11am when we all stood silently, we heard 3 booms – the loudest we think was from Manchester Town Hall. These booms marked the start and end of the silence. It is unusual in our very busy and noisy world to stand silently, but our pupils did it perfectly.
We Will Remember.
